Hartland™ Camouflage · Field testing now

Range™

Our first camo pattern, designed for Australian eucalypt country. It's being field tested now and isn't on sale yet.

Range camo pattern: eucalypt foliage, grass and gum trunks in olive, tan, grey-green and deep shadow

Why build our own

Most camo isn't drawn for here

Most camo on the shelf is designed overseas: for American hardwood forest, or for New Zealand bush and tussock. Good gear, but different country. We hunt gum country: grazing paddocks, box-gum and stringybark ridges, dry grass and grey-green leaf. The colours are different, and so are the shapes.

So we started from the country itself. Range is developed and field tested in Australia, built around the Hunter, the Upper Hunter and the New England tablelands, where we actually hunt.

Timbered hills, open grass and a rocky outcrop in the Upper Hunter under a big sky
The kind of country Range is built for. Murrurundi, Upper Hunter.

How it works

One pattern, two jobs

Close-up of Range camo showing leaf, grass and bark detail

Up close

Fine leaf, grass and gum-bark detail blends with the scrub around you.

Range camo blurred to simulate viewing from a distance, showing only large shapes

At distance

The detail disappears and the big shapes take over, breaking up your outline. (Image blurred to simulate distance.)

The palette

Seven colours. All local.

Every colour in Range was picked from the country it's built for.

For when you need to be seen

Range Blaze

The same pattern, with blaze orange in place of the light tones. It's designed to stand out to other people while keeping the pattern's shapes.

Blaze rules differ between states and types of land. Check the requirements where you hunt before relying on any garment to meet them.
